Background

Aleisha brings over two decades of experience in the helping field, with 16 years specifically dedicated to aiding individuals, couples, and families through their healing journeys. Her expertise is rooted in trauma-informed and attachment-focused methods, tailored for both relational and individual therapy. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) in Colorado, Aleisha combines her substantial educational background with hands-on experience. She holds a Master's degree in Psychology (clinical emphasis) from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, obtained in 2008, and furthered her specialization with a post-master's certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Denver Family Institute.

Aleisha is not just academically accomplished but also well-versed in practical methodologies. She is a Certified EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist and has undertaken intensive trainings in several key areas: Attachment Focused Family Therapy by Dan Hughes, Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) by Karyn Purvis, and the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) by Stan Tatkin.

Beyond her therapy practice, Aleisha contributes to the field as a faculty member at the Denver Family Institute. Here, she supervises master's level Marriage and Family Therapy students and has previously taught courses in family play therapy and relational substance abuse treatment. Aleisha's passion lies in harnessing the transformative power of relationships to foster healing and growth.

About Me

When not doing coaching, therapy, or nerding out on attachment theory, Aleisha enjoys the outdoors, cooking, creative projects, music, and reading.  Aleisha lives in the Portland, OR area with her partner and their two children.  She considers herself an extroverted introvert, and enjoys connecting with her loved ones over a cup of coffee or a long walk in the woods.
