Background

Kelly is passionate about strengths-based, solution-focused coaching, and creates a deeply supportive space where collaborative problem-solving can flourish. She helps parents dig into their own attachment histories to gain insight into how the past may be informing their current strategies.

Kelly has helped families transcend extreme emotional dysregulation, sleep disruptions, anxiety, and other behavioral difficulties to foster secure relationships and create more harmony in the household. In addition, she supports parents on their own journeys by digging into attachment histories, supporting adjustment to parenthood, navigating family conflict, and identifying self-care strategies.

Kelly has specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (an evidence-based approach to developing skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness). She has completed Mindfulness Training for Clinicians through the National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine, and is currently studying Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) with Dr. Dan Siegel through the Mindsight Institute.

She earned her Master's in Counseling from the University of Colorado Denver and holds a dual licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado and a Licensed Professional School Counselor (PreK-12). She received clinical training at the CU Denver Student & Community Counseling Center, with an emphasis on social justice and culturally responsive counseling.

About Me

I spend a lot of time with kids, and they ask the BEST questions. A few recent ones: “What is your favorite color?” (Aqua); “What is your favorite emotion?” (Delight); “What’s your dog’s name?” (Howie);  “Do you make mistakes?” (Yes); “Do you like worms?” (Sure?);  “What’s your favorite thing?” (Hot Springs); “Do you have kids?” (Two).

In my free time, I love visiting museums with my family, discovering new coffee shops, swimming, practicing qigong and other mindful movement, and making seasonal Spotify playlists. I’m a constant reader who carries dog-eared books everywhere, and I often discover poignant messages in children’s books that I delight in sharing with clients of all ages.

Prior to entering the mental health and coaching fields, I worked with several nonprofit arts organizations in Seattle, including the internationally-renowned radio station KEXP. I believe in the power of healing through creative expression, and my passion for art, music, and literature is infused into my coaching practice.
